Looking Ahead

We could call this list "resolutions" but that would imply pressure, resulting in success or failure. I would rather think of all of this as a journey. Things that will hopefully happen, but leaving open the possibility that something better might come along and create a lovely distraction. Progress is good, and I will happily enjoy any progress that is made in 2013. I hope that I learn many lessons (not all of them the hard way) and that I make some new friends, and spend time with old ones. I hope that 2013 includes LOTS of quilts, and fabric and thread, and stitching.

I have a few (that's a relative term) UFO's that I would like to finish this year.

Such as this batik twister...

and this bullseye...

and this scrappy plaid...

and make some more quilts using this template...

and create something from these dots...

and make more blocks for this random sampler...

I hope to vend at another show...

and teach some more workshops (I have 3 on the calendar so far!)

I would love to make some upgrades to this website, crazy things like TABS at the top for my published works, my teaching schedule, free patterns, etc. Oh, I might be getting carried away now.

I also hope to have time to play with fabric. No goals in mind, just play. It's important to the creative process and keeps me inspired!

What are you hoping to include on your quilting journey in 2013? Leave a comment telling me what your most exciting quilting plans include this year and I will choose someone to win a pattern of their choice from my shop. Or maybe I will choose more than one...

Soon I hope to have a new pattern written to share here with all of you. Fun things are happening in the quilt room...really fun things!

Enjoy every stitch!
Diane

  1. I would love to enter a quilt in the local fair this year. I'm wrapping up a "Swoon" quilt and want to start cutting fabric in the next couple of days (fingers are crossed that life doesn't get in the way!). I've never done this before so this will be an exciting time for me!
    Happy New Year!

  2. All best wishes to you too!! With lots of fabric and new creations and all the things us quilters love. Just saw your new sewing machine too and I hope you will enjoy your Janome just as much as I do. I have the same....
My exsiting new quilting-thingy is that I was asked to host a few workshops in making fabric flowers and making a fabric halfround bag. I'm so scared but excited as well!!! Quilting is sharing I think and having this in my future is a big dream come true. The fact that I was asked to do so from a quiltshop owner makes is even more special to me.... I will keep you updated on my blog of course!
