Making the Blocks!
Using one unit from Clue #1 and two units from Clue #3, arrange them as shown above and sew them together. Press away from the center strip. Make 96. Then flip the outside strips so that the accent squares are on the bottom left and top right, and make 96.
The finished units will be 3 1/2" square, trim if needed.
Arrange the four matching units from Clue #2 around a 3 1/2" background square from Clue #4.
Add the units that were just sewn to each corner. Notice the units in the top left and bottom right are the same, and the units on the bottom left and top right are the same but the reverse of the first two.
Sew the units together into rows, then sew the rows together just like you would with a nine patch.
Make 48 blocks.
Next week I will share the finished quilt and the free PDF download of the pattern. I hope you like these blocks and have had fun sewing along. I have had so much fun sharing the instructions along with a few tips. My goal is for it to be easy and enjoyable. I hope I accomplished that.
I will also give you a chance to share your blocks and quilts in a linky party soon. So keep sewing and start snapping some pictures to share!
Enjoy every stitch!
