Easter Colors

It was a quiet Easter around here. I was home alone piecing up a storm! I noticed that my scraps looked a lot like Easter colors. My hubby works most holidays and I knew ahead of time that my girl wouldn't be able to come home from school, and the boy's bought concert tickets ages ago, so that left me home alone with the dogs. And it was quiet and wonderful. We will schedule time together on another day, just like Christmas rarely happens on the 25th around here. The calendar is not what's important, the time together and the love is...and we will have plenty of that I promise!

I am prepping and packing for my trip to Alabama this week. I'm really looking forward to two days of workshops with the Lickskillet Guild. I had a great time my first visit with them, so I know we will have lots fun learning some new quilts this time!

I hope your Easter was special and that you have some good spring sewing planned!

  1. Sounds like a wonderful peaceful (pieceful!) Easter. I love the name of the group you will be with. I can just picture the ladies of "Lickskillet", they must be a hoot!

  2. I can totally relate to celebrating holidays "off-calendar"! That's always been how things have worked at our house, and it's especially true now that our youngest son lives in Dallas. He came home this past weekend to run in the Crescent City Classic (10K), so we were all able to be together - such a treat! Can't wait to see what you've been stitching up AND hear about your adventures with the Lickskillet Guild!

  3. I am looking so forward to seeing you this week at our Lick Skillet classes on Friday and Saturday! It was a real pleasure meeting you back in the fall. Can't wait to see the results of our member's quilts in various colors! Have a very safe trip over and we will see you on Friday!

  4. Most of our family holidays are dictated by the calendar anymore. It's just the way things happen. I'd love to hear how the guild, Lickskillet got its name. It makes you want to smile.

  5. Our Easter was quiet too, only one kid home for the weekend and we didn't even see much of him! Love your pretty colors.:)
