Pin Basted

The boys have been at a friends lake cabin for the weekend, and my girl was out babysitting, and my husband was busy studying (he starts training this week to learn how to fly a 737-800) so I had some time on my hands and the house was very quiet. That NEVER happens around here, so I seized the moment!

I moved the rug from the front hall, and layed out the backing for the selvage quilt I made quite a while ago. Once I got the backing taped down...

I layed out the batting and got it nicely smoothed out...

Then I placed the quilt top on it...

And started pinning, and just a couple hours later...

It was all pin basted!

I'm calling this one COMPOST PILES because the gardener in me can't help but think of sevlages as a quilter's compost. I mean really, it usually gets thrown away, but it can be turned into something useful, just like composting the trimmings in my garden!

Well, it makes sense in my mind anyhow.

Can't wait to start quilting it now!
