Show and Tell

No, I didn't go to the Vermont Quilt Festival, but I sure loved looking at all the photos on other folks blogs.

No, I'm not in Sisters, Oregon having fun with all those quilters either, but I am anxiously awaiting the photos from those that are lucky enough to be there.

Occasionally, I do get to go on really fun quilting adventures. (Just so you don't feel too sorry for me!) And one of my all time favorite quilt trips was one I took in March of 2012 to the special exhibit of Red and White Quilts in NYC. My good friend Mary Ruth and I went for a few days and had a ball!

In addition to the exhibit, we went shopping, took a walking tour of Central Park, saw a broadway show, and visited the (sadly now closed) American Folk Art Museum. All of which I highly recommend!

These photos are some of quilts from the collection at the Lincoln Center Branch (which is still open as far as I know) of the American Folk Art Museum.

This is also the home of the 9-11 memorial quilt, which is a very important experience to have if you have the time to really sit and visit with it.
