10 Minute Tip

If you don't have time to actually sew something, or feel like you just don't have the energy, then you should just play! That's right, play with some blocks. If you have a design wall, pop a few up there and see what happens, or you can spread them out on a table or the floor. Whatever works for you.

I would suggest that you choose some place that you can back away from. Blocks play together much differently from a few feet away or from across the room. Just because you made some block that were supposed to be one thing, doesn't mean that you can't experiment with different combinations.

When you find an arrangement or placement that you like, snap a photo with your phone. It will be so much easier to remember if you can just look at the photo later. I like to try several arrangements, and photograph each of them, then you can compare them side by side.

So if you only have a few minutes to spare...go play! You never know what you might discover.

Enjoy every stitch!!

  1. Playing is what it is all about, isn't it? This reminded me of something my youngest grandson said. He followed me to my sewing room one day while he was visiting. He stood there with a huge smile on his face, and his eyes were huge. His little head was looking around at everything. Then he looks at me and he says. "Mom-Mom! It looks like some body plays in here!"
Your sewing room looks a lot like mine. Mine is yellow, too!
