Pin Basted

Comfort and Joy has been such a fun journey! It all started when I bought the pattern from the fabulous Pat Wys when she came to our guild. Then, only a few short weeks later, Anne sent out a challenge asking who would be interesting in doing a sew along for this very pattern. Well, the timing couldn't have been better and it was just the motivation I needed to keep going. I had a wonderful time visiting all the other blogs and watching the progress. The final reveal is scheduled for the end of this month. We had hoped to finish before Christmas but only one person actually accomplished that I think. You can see her amazing work HERE.

I feel really good about the progress I've made. I have added extra blocks to make the quilt large enough for a full size bed. I also finished the borders just recently. So last night I layered and pin basted the quilt. I hope to get some machine quilting done this week so I can bind it while on retreat next weekend. But after looking at the photos, I will need to add some more applique on the corners. Maybe I'll just sprinkle some smaller stars on it. Wish me luck, I will need it!

Enjoy every stitch!

  3. Beautiful! You crack me up thinking it needs more applique NOW after you've just finished pin basting! Good luck with that--absolutely keep it simple! It looks wonderful as is.:)
