10 Minute Tip

Today's tip is something I like to call my "secret weapon" or more appropriately "my grown up coloring book." Actually, it's a journal for recording ideas, sketches, numbers, notes, and anything else that pops into my brain that I think I will want to remember later...because I know I won't!!

I've been doing this for a few years now and it is an amazing resource. I think of it as my brain in a book, but your memory may be better than mine! (I sure hope so!) Anyway, I love to look back through the journal for ideas and often find that I like to edit them, or combine more than one, once I am ready to work on something. It serves more as a starting point than as an actual step-by-step.

I found these graph paper notebook at an office supply store. They are only a couple of dollars but the markings on the paper make drawing quilts and quilt blocks sooooo easy. Of course I covered mine with a quilted cover that is super easy to make.

And colored pencils just make it that much more fun to play with. I highly encourage you to start your own journal if you haven't already, it really is a helpful tool when trying to design or remember a design.

Enjoy every stitch!
Diane
