Playing catch up...
I'm still feeling a bit sick, and now I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself. Today is my annual guild "Preview Party" for our quilt show and I'm having a private pajama party instead. I do hope all my friends are having a wonderful time. I am certainly there in spirit.
The "challenge quilt" this year required polka dots and embellishment, and the theme was "favorite things." Once I got to thinking about my favorite things, I realized that they are all found right here in my home. So that became my starting point.
My friend Jan had been making cute wool houses at retreat, so that seemed like a good place to start. And since I wanted viewers to know that it was not just any house, I added the word home and couldn't resist adding the heart. My embellishments are the flower stems of rick rack and a few buttons. Nothing fancy but I think it is fun and cheerful, two things I happen to love about my home.
I can't wait to get better so I can go see the show and see the other challenge quilts, as well as the rest of the quilts.
I felt well enough to make a couple of blocks for my random sampler so I'll share that soon too.

So sorry you're missing a fun event - hope you feel better soon! I love your little house quilt - I think I agree with you about having all my favorite things right in my home!
ReplyDeleteWell, at least it's the 'preview' party so hopefully you'll actually be at the main event! Such a bummer to have to miss out though. Very sweet little quilt.:)
