I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I have several more new books that I am really excited about. I have been on quite the book buying spree of late, but it's not entirely my fault. I had a gift card from Mother's day to use and one book was back ordered so it just arrived. Okay, maybe most of it is my fault. :)
Anyway, I love to share a good thing when I find it so here's why I love this book:
It's got lots of gorgeous photos.
It's got lots of good history in the form of journals written by a quilter.
There is cheddar, poison green, and turkey red in abundance.
It's beautifully illustrated (as are all Kansas City Star books).
It's a follow up to this book, which I don't have but may need to get soon. I'll just enjoy this one for a bit first. I still have many pages to read in this one. So if you love quilt history, journals, old photos and beautiful quilts from a past era, this is the book for you!
Enjoy!
Diane
Betsy is a great friend of mine, and all her books are really fantastic...thanks for reviewing this one!
ReplyDeleteLucky you! Judging by her books, I would LOVE to spend time stitching and visiting with her!
DeleteThe Kansas City Star books are always amazing aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI've drooled over these books for some time - just haven't bitten the dust and bought them! So glad to hear a great review!
