I haven't worked on the scrap basket quilt as much as I should have this week. I wanted to get more than just two blocks done, and the flower still needs a yoyo center.
I also sent my machine in for a cleaning and service so I was working on my little travel machine. I did piece a quilt top (that is going to be a gift so I can't show it yet) and I am almost finished machine quilting another quilt. I'll share that when it's complete.I am finding it very hard to squeeze in quilting between all of the kids' summer activities. I do love having them home but they require a lot of transportation! :) One kid left for the beach today with family friends, and another goes to camp at UGA on Monday. So with only one kid at home, maybe the schedule will give me a bit of a break this week...oh, but the cousins arrive next week...hmm. Maybe not!
Hop on over to Kim's to see what everyone else is pulling out of their scrap baskets. I know I will.
Enjoy every stitch! (or whatever you are doing)
Diane
I like the use of rick rack for the flower stem. I don't have this style of fabric in my stash but do like quilts made with them.
ReplyDeleteI remember the days of having kids home during the summer. You have to squeeze quilting time 5 minutes here and 5 minutes there.
ReplyDeleteYour flower block is pretty!
Two blocks may not feel like much sometimes, but if you keep making a couple every now and then, before you know it, they'll grow into a whole quilt; and, of course, family takes priority--enjoy your time with them!
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks! I know exactly what you mean, but this is a very short span of time in our life (at least that's what I keep telling myself since I don't have a basement for my kids to live in when they get older.*wink)
