Scrap Management

My scrap basket was over flowing again. So I decided to tame it with the rotary cutter. I cut a few tiny tumblers, and a few bricks (2.5" x 5") and now there is even room to spare...

Whew, that feels good! Now I need to start sewing!

Enjoy every stitch!

  1. I have been doing some stash and scrap management too. Love this idea and happy to have stumbled on to your blog this morning.

  2. Your scrap basket must be smaller than mine! It would take me a couple days to tame what I have, hehe. Love that birdy fabric in the last pic--I have a piece of that hanging around too.:)

  3. I can see those pieces making some really cute quilts. :-) I need to do this with some of mine. My sister-in-law suggested that I get sandwich boxes to organize 5 inch squares. I thought it was a great idea. I can put one color in each box which will make picking colors even easier. :-) And, if I cut some squares when I cut out fabric for other things like you suggested, or just to tame the pile like this, I should be able to build up a nice color collection eventually. Thanks for you good ideas.
