5" Tumbler Give Away Winner!!

Because I couldn't stand to just give one away, I chose 3 winners. (Hey, it's my blog, I can do what I want!) So the winners of the 5" Tumbler Template are:

A couple of very pretty pastel packs I picked up from Tuesday Morning. Woul love to try the tumbler template. The tiny tumblers you have sewed together in this post look really nice.

Very cool! I would use it on a stack of my leftover charms. I have a whole bunch of them...mostly Moda of course! Teals, blues, burgundys and tans. It's been a stack for a while and this might be just the idea to get it started. Thanks for the chance!

Happy go lucky thanks for the chance

(Congratulations girls! Please send me your mailing addresses at  butterflythreadsquilting(at)gmail(dot)com and I will get these out to you ASAP!)

For the Quilt top above, I used 7 charm packs of these gorgeous fabrics...

I cut 6 charm packs using the tumbler template, then I chose 15 charms to cut into two half charms each for the sides.

I pieced fifteen rows (top to bottom) of 16 tumblers(across), plus a half tumbler at the beginning and at the end of each row.

The finished quilt top measures 55" x 67.5" and is a great size for snuggling. I had leftover charms, because I chose not to use a few of the prints. I just didn't like the look of a couple of them, they reminded me of bad 80's wallpaper. I realize that is a personal opinion, but I'm entitled to it. :)

I hope this quilt inspires you to make your very own tumbler quilt. And if you do, I would love for you to send me a photo. Thanks so much for playing along in the give away this week. Who knows, I might just have ANOTHER new template ready to unveil very soon!!!

Enjoy every stitch!
Diane

  1. Thank you. Looking forward to trying the tumbler out. I just an email to you. Love the quilt top you did..And love your refrence to the bad 1980's wall paper. Can;t believe I actually wall papered almost all the rooms in my first home with that stuff.
