to join the fun over at the HERE at the Blogger's Quilt Festival. I'm a little late to the party, but that's because I had a hard time deciding which quilts to enter. It can be a bit intimidating after looking at the other entries, but I decided to jump in anyway. I've chosen two quilts to enter.

The first quilt is entered in the home machine quilted category (both of these quilts are bed size and quilted by me on my Janome) but this one was made specifically for my daughter's bed, and she loves it! Glad I got a photo of it before it went into her typical teen room. It might never be the same again. Haha.
I used fabric that was purchased in a kit (for an entirely different quilt) while I was in Hawaii seven years ago. I no longer wanted to make that pattern, but still loved the fabrics. I added a few extra batiks and quilted water ripples and swirls onto it. I call it "Pacific Twist". It was fun to make, and I had never made a large twister quilt before, so I really enjoyed working with the large pieces.
The other quilt I entered in the scrappy quilt category is very special to me. It's the very first quilt I ever had published and it remains one of my favorites. I started by simply trying to use up strips of left over fall fabrics, then found a very large piece of the brown that I bought at some point because I loved it (and still do!) I quilted various leaves that look as though they are falling down the quilt, so naturally it became "When Fall Leaves". I only bordered the sides and not the top and bottom because the bed I use it one has a large footboard and the borders would be hidden. I've made several quilts for that bed in this style and think they look better on the bed with only side borders.
Now, don't forget to go back to the festival and vote for your favorites in every category. There are some great prizes being offered as well. Good luck and have fun!
Enjoy every stitch!
