It's been a while since I've shared a quick tip, have you missed them? Well, you're getting another one anyway. hahaha
DESIGNATE A DONATION BASKET OR BIN
I keep a medium size basket in the back corner of my quilt room for "donations". I often find fabric that I am not sure where it came from, or why I have it, or I have decided that I will not ever use it for whatever reason. When I make the decision that I'm not going to use something, I will simply drop it in the basket. Once or twice a year, when the bin gets full, I either take it to guild to put on the "take this stuff for free" table, or donate to the church preschool for crafts. It is also a good source of supplies for making an extra placemat or two for Meals On Wheels. It's also a good place to find fabric if I need a small piece to try new stitches or test a fabric pen, etc. This is a good way to purge on a continual basis, and still stay organized.
Hope this inspires you to begin saving supplies for donation.
Enjoy every stitch!

Great idea! I have a pile that tends to spread out too much. A basket would do the trick to keep things in order!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeletethis is a great tip. I have a box next to my door for things that I no longer want or need...sadly, it isn't very full!
