Excuses, Excuses

My big sewing goal for this weekend was to (are you ready for this?) WIND SOME BOBBINS. Yep, that's right. I plan to start machine quilting a quilt today and this weekend I just needed to get some bobbins wound so I could be all ready.

However...

Friday afternoon I took the dog to the vet because he kept shaking his head, and as suspected, he had a double ear infection, hot spots and fleas! Seriously!?! So we are now doing drops, spray, and pills. Poor thing!

Friday night I watched the last three episodes of an amazing tv series with my hubby. It was called "Titanic: Blood and Steel" and was about the lives of the people who built the ship in Belfast. It was the best series I have seen in a long time. If you can record it, I would highly recommend it!

Saturday morning my hubby and boys ran in the local 5K to support the humane society (all three came home with medals!) and my girl volunteered to help at the race to earn points for her Beta Club at school.

Saturday afternoon I finished the final book in the Divergent series by Veronica Roth. Still undecided how I feel about it, but I won't spoil it for you in case you are reading it too. Can't wait to discuss it tonight at book club!

Saturday night, the girl and I went to the barn and enjoyed a bonfire and s'mores with the other riders and families. Those are good people, and I am so thankful that Kelly has such great mentors.

Sunday morning Kelly had to work her shift at the barn, and then the boys had their Cross Country Banquet to celebrate the end of a great running season. We were supposed to bring dessert, so we stopped at the store on the way. That's how we roll, sometimes.

Then of course we came home to football. Hubby and I do like to watch our football together on Sundays when we can. He works some Sundays, but that's the only time we miss it. So this is all to say that...

I DID NOT WIND ANY BOBBINS...or do anything else quilt related (other than mailing some Etsy orders...Thank You Very Much!)

If you need me today, I'll finally be winding those bobbins and then start the machine quilting. I may need a nap too. :)

Enjoy every stitch!
Diane

  1. It sounds like a good weekend though! My oldest daughter just finished up with her cross country season too! It's good to have healthy, active kids.:)
