Old Money Mini

I mentioned that I hope to make a mini quilt each month this year. Here is the mini quilt for January. It is based on my free pattern "Old Money" that can be found HERE. I even used the leftover border fabric in the mini version. Okay, I hadn't actually planned that, it just worked out that way.

It was super quick and easy, and really fun to make. Here's the directions:

OLD MONEY MINI

Cutting Instructions:

cut 45 rectangles 1 1/4" x 3 1/4"
cut 2 sashing strips 1 1/2" x 12 1/2"
cut 2 border strips 3 1/4" x 12 1/2"
cut 2 border strips 3 1/4" x 15 1/2"

Sewing Instructions:

Sew three rows of 15 rectangles together as shown in the photo.
Sew a sashing strip to the long side of two of the pieced rows.
Sew these together along with the third pieced row.
Sew the shorter borders to the sides.
Sew the remaining borders to the top and bottom.

Press, layer, baste, quilt and bind.

As always, feel free to ask me any questions you might have!

Enjoy every stitch!

  1. Love it, I have lots of leftover fabric and it just needs one solid colour for binding....thank you!
