10 Minute Tip

Take Inventory. It might not happen to you, but it happens to me all the time...I forget what I have. That's just one of the many reasons I make lists. On my phone, I have a list, of a few of my lists. Don't laugh, it works! Mostly. I have a list of books to read that my friends recommend. I have a list of things to do, and a list of things make. I even have a wish list...you know, just in case someone ever asks! (Feel free to forward this to my husband, he's not a regular blog reader.)

Recently I bought a color of thread that I already had, and while that's not the worst thing that could happen, I would prefer not to duplicate colors at the current market value. This stuff isn't cheap but it's SO worth it! So I took an inventory and added it to my phone. (And no I'm not going to tell you how long the list actually is!) This way, I can easily check it and update it when I make a purchase. If I buy fabric for a project, I can find out if I have thread at home to match already or not! How cool is that?

And since I know someone will ask...to take a photo of what's on your phone, just click the home button at the bottom and the power button at the top simultaneously and it will snap a photo of the screen. You're welcome. :)

So that's my 10 minute tip. If you feel compelled to go thread shopping after you take inventory, I cannot be held responsible. Heck, I might even see you at the quilt shop!

Enjoy every spool!
Diane

  1. Since I don't have a smart phone, I make lists the old fashioned way. I always carry a very comprehensive list of what's needs for my quilts projects tucked away in my purse! It's a lifesaver!
