Summer Reading List

My book club met at my house this week and we discussed some books and made a reading list for the next six months. Don't worry, we also drank plenty of wine, ate a few treats, and shared all the latest "news" of the neighborhood, just like any good book club would. :)

Here is a list of what we have recently read and are going to read, so I can't review most of them but I will say, I rarely read a book that we choose that I don't love. These ladies are great at getting the scoop on good reads.

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt (read and liked a lot)
Wild by Cheryl Strayed (read and liked a lot)
Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline (read and really liked a lot!)
Serena by Ron Rash
The Husband's Secret by Laine Moriarity
12 Years a Slave by Soloman Northrup
The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer
Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki
The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd

And personally, I can't pull my nose out of this book right now. Sigh.
Enjoy every page!
Diane

***Please note that if you purchase one of these or any item linked from this blog, I will get a tiny reward, for which I am truly grateful. Thank you!

  1. I liked a previous book by Sue Monk Kidd. Maybe I should try this one.

  2. Hannah and I both loved "The Invention of Wings" and I read "The Husband's Secret". It was a quick read. Hannah recommends "Jellicoe Road" - probably more for your girl, but I liked it too :)
