Sneak Peek
Just to prove that I have gotten some stitching done while the flood repair takes place in my sewing room (are you counting how many times I've mentioned that? I hope not!) Anyhow...I have done some hand work and find it very relaxing.
I started this quilt in 2005 and I still love it. I drew some blocks based on what happens in my garden, and added a little from what happens in my imagination. That's what I like about 'artistic license'. If I want my chive blooms to be pink instead of purple, they can be. If I want my butterfly to be yellow instead of blue, no problem.
I have gotten most of five blocks finished and am ready to start the next one. I think I will look at them when they are all together and decide what needs to be added to each block, if anything. That makes the overall balance of the quilt easier to achieve.
While I've been working on this quilt for nine *ahem* years, I don't think it will take me that long to finish. I'm kind of in the 'groove' now and think I might actually make some progress. If it does take nine more years, that's okay too.
Enjoy every stitch!

I have a wool felt one that took me that long to finish, but it was totally worth it. I consider handwork to be my therapy because it is calming and helps me get distracted from stressful situations.
ReplyDeleteYay for getting out an old project and giving it some love!
