Thread Organization

A few months ago, I shared the photo of my thread storage/ display. I used an old printer's tray that I found at a flea market. Then I saw somewhere (on Pinterest I am pretty sure) that someone had a WHOLE WALL of these trays filled with thread. Well, if one is good, more is better, right? So when I went to my favorite antique shop in SC a few weeks ago, I found another tray. Two actually, but I used some restraint and only bought one. So now I have two trays on the wall for my threads. Notice how I arranged the threads in rainbow order? Mostly.

I'm sure Luna will be thrilled that she can reach this one much more easily to steal thread. I'm going to have to come up with a plan for that...

Enjoy every spool!
Diane

ps. I keep my Aurifil sewing spools in the drawer next to my machine for quick access. These are mostly for handwork or the occasional hard-to-match threads.

  1. These printers trays are wonderful! Looks awesome with all of those thread colors! I've also seen folks make little cross stitch pieces and insert them into a spot for accent.... which is what I hope to be doing with the printers tray I bought about a year ago? lol! So many projects... ;-)
