Not long ago, I found this photo of an antique quilt in an old book. It just called to me. I have scraps from a two red and white quilts, gray scraps from a another quilt, and blue scraps from several quilts. So I decided to start this...
After cutting some strips and deciding what size block I wanted to make (that would fit on a page of the phone book I was using for foundations) I started sewing. I'm going to add a border of half blocks to my quilt, so I gave that a try too...
Now I only have a few hundred to go! But that probably won't happen next week, since the last of the flooring is being replaced in my sewing room and that means EVERYTHING has to be moved out, and then moved back in when it's finished. Try not to be jealous. :)
Enjoy your weekend!
This is going to be really, really cool! Yeah...I'll keep working on not being jealous, lol! What a bunch of work you have ahead of you. But just remember...there is light at the end of the tunnel!ReplyDelete
What a terrific project! I will be happily be following your progress and frequently wiping the drool off my computer screen!ReplyDelete
Ha ha. It will all be worth it when you're moved back in though!ReplyDelete
I understand the attraction you had for this antique scrappy star! I do love it, as I love scrap quilts, and I am sure you will make yours a marvel as usual! Have a beautiful week-end!ReplyDelete
