My bee group went on a road trip yesterday to Rome, GA. I had never been there before but once Darlene told us that there was a quilt shop we planned a road trip!
So here's my cute friends in front of The Stitchery. We thought it was really cute from outside, but once we got inside we actually 'gasped' and 'oohed' and I might have even 'squealed' just a little bit. The shop is in an historic building in the renovated downtown area. The lighting is great and the displays and samples are so adorable. There was a class in the back sewing away. We spent lots of time just admiring the fabrics and choosing which ones NEEDED to come home with us.
The owner and the salesperson were both super friendly and helpful (although we really didn't need much help, LOL). It was fun chatting with them and they recommended some great places to eat lunch and shops to visit while we were in town.
This little painting says it all, doesn't it?
And I picked up the instructions for their 'Row by Row' for my friend Martha. She's kind of addicted to that little activity. :)
I purchased this fabric with the sewing definitions. I had been on the lookout for it for ages but it had always been sold out. Now I have 3 yards, just in case I finally figure out WHY I needed it so urgently.
And I picked up these two little fat quarters. How could I resist?
And I bought some yardage of these organics. I was lucky enough to get a fat quarter bundle at market during 'sample spree' and this was the first time I had actually seen it on the bolt. It was hard to decide on just two as I wanted them all. Sigh.
Then we had lunch at the Harvest Moon Cafe which was wonderful! And we walked next door to the HoneyMoon Bakery and each bought a cookie. Yummmmm! I would highly recommend both of these places!
So go call your friends and plan a road trip...you'll be glad you did!
Enjoy!!
Diane
