(purchased this bundle here)
I find it particularly challenging to work in black and white. I love the black and white fabrics and I'm not shy about purchasing them, but once I have them in my hands, I start second-guessing and re-thinking things way too much. I'm not sure what my problem is...
(I bought this one here too)
As well as some chevrons from my collection...
And some whites with black prints...
And some blacks with white prints...
And then of course I have this gorgeous pack of Moonshadow by Andover...
So you can see why I was getting over whelmed. I drew up a plan in EQ7 and it seemed like a winner. Until I made a few blocks...
And now I'm not so sure. It might be time for plan B, or it might be time to step away and re-think. I still LOVE the fabrics, just not sure I love what I'm doing with them. I'll keep you posted as soon as I decide.
Enjoy every stitch!
Diane
I think what you have so far looks great! My problem with doing something like this...I would have to throw in some red!
ReplyDeleteOh I am like that about batiks, Diane; I don't know how to use them, it seems...and when I start I look at them and say..."just don't know"...Hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteyou need to add red to the mix:)
ReplyDeleteKathie
Quite unusual from you, I am curious to see was you are "cooking" with those beautiful prints.
ReplyDeleteI love black and white fabrics too, but wowsers are they hard for me to work with! Maybe you need to do a Freddy Moran plan with your quilt. She just uses them as a neutral!
ReplyDeleteYour black & white fabrics are wonderful !
ReplyDeleteMy Black velvet quilt I made I used a ivory grunge fabric . It picked up the black & grays of the fabrics perfectly , you can see it here : http://cozylittlequilts.blogspot.com/2014/04/red-velvet-quilt-made-with-black-dress.html
Looking forward to watching your progress on this one
