Try not to be too shocked, but I ordered another used book from Amazon this week. I know it's kind of getting to be a habit but for the price of a cup of coffee I can get happy mail, inspiration and good stories. That's a win all the way around!
Of course it's packed with good information as well as pretty photos of quilts...
And you know how I love these old photos! I can't help but wonder what these sisters fought about and perhaps the secrets they shared.
A really cool feature in this book is that some of the old quilts are remade in modern fabrics and the instructions are given. Gotta love that!
Isn't this a fun update to the old string quilt?
This quilt was just pretty so I thought you might like to see it.
And this quilt might serve as inspiration for the eagle quilt project going on over HERE.
Some really cool quilt comparisons (I love these!)
And if I had to choose a favorite from the book, this would be it. It's string pieced and so random and charming and the red is gorgeous!
I hope you enjoyed this peek into this book, I know I'm going to spend some more quality time with it. I find so much inspiration from these books and quilters featured in them.
Enjoy every stitch!
Diane
Oh oh! A four block eagle quilt - I might be buying another quilt book this week myself!
ReplyDeleteI have just ordered the quilt doc book from NJ. I hope it gets here soon!
ReplyDeleteLots of good ideas in these old books, aren't there? I really love the Star of Bethlehem quilt - I definitely have something similar in my quilt bucket list. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this awesome book!! I love every photo you've shown of the quilts!
