Book Review: The Little Spark by Carrie Bloomston

I treated myself to a new book for Christmas this year. I had heard really good things about this one and was curious. It's not a quilting book. It is a book for quilters though. And for any person who feels the need to create. I'll be honest, I wasn't sure I was going to really find anything in this that excited me...but I was surprised!

I LOVE this book! First of all, it gives me permission to toss the to-do list. I live by my to-do list and feel lost without it, but the thought of going a whole day without one is somehow exciting and a relief at the same time!

Little nuggets of wisdom are found on every page. Real information that is not earth shattering but necessary all the same. This book is going to feed my creative soul in so many ways! I need that right about now.

Not only is there wisdom, but there is practical, how-to information, and interactive sections with questions and answers, mini surveys and ways to personalize this book into my very own journey. But it's not a bunch of blank pages for you to fill in! That's important because I don't like books I have to write myself. This one is super jam packed with goodness.

And there are inspiring photos as well. No creative book would be complete without peeks into creative spaces and studios, works in progress, and supplies to drool over. Quilting is included in many of the samples and examples, so it feels like a book that was written for me as well as painters, sculptors, and writers.
