10 Minute Tip

Did you know that your quilt rulers are good for more than just rotary cutting? Of course you can use them as a straight edge for drawing lines, but you can also use the side of them for cleaning up your cutting mat! Drag it along the mat to pick up even the tiniest bits of lint and thread and scoop them all into a waiting trash bin! Yep, I do it all the time!

Also, use those rulers for carrying lots of cut pieces to your sewing machine. They will stay in order and neatly lined up for you. It is much quicker than picking up each set individually. What else do you use your rulers for? I would love to hear more tips and tricks if you want to share them in the comments.

Enjoy every stitch!

  1. I wish I were still doing the education segment at guild - what great ideas. Now, I'm the librarian for both our evening and day meetings. The education season is over for now,

  2. great tips - I do both of these...great minds :)

  3. I'm going to try the mat cleaning tip. Mine needs it.

  4. I do all of these too. It's fun to know others do too.

  5. Simple tips are the best! Thanks Diane (Christine sent me, LOL) I also use mine to keep freshly pressed pieces flat while they cool.
