I'm in love. I just want to work on this quilt and let everything else wait. If only life were that simple right? I was super thrilled when Sarah and her friend announced they were leading a quilt along for the 1718 Coverlet.
They are keeping it very relaxed and just sharing the blocks they are doing and letting other share photos as well. They announce which blocks they will be working on each month, and at the end of the year, we should be all finished with the blocks.
I've chosen to work along with them, at my own pace. I sewed the first row of blocks one night when the house was quiet. Then a few days later, I prepped a few of the applique blocks and packed them up to take with me.
If you follow me on Instagram you know that I spend a fair amount of time at track meets this time of year. I LOVE to watch my boys run. It truly makes my heart soar to see them excel at something they love and that they train so hard for all year long. However, because they run the long distance events, it means that they run first and last with about 3 hours in between. I enjoy watching the other kids compete and cheer for them, but while my boys are between events, I get some stitching done! I know the whole team probably refers to me as... that mom that always sews...and I'm okay with that.
I have quite a few blocks to finish this month if I'm going to keep up with the quilt along. But if I fall behind, I can always catch up later. I really do love this quilt!!! Can you tell?
Enjoy every stitch!
Diane
Oh I know just what you mean. When I am working on something I love it is hard to do anything else! Love it.
ReplyDeleteReally great fabrics. I am going to love following along with your progress.:)
ReplyDeleteI would say that stitching while they run is a win-win situation!
