Throw Back Thursday

This week's Throw Back Thursday quilt is from 2011. I purchased this pattern from Edyta Sitar years earlier and had made the paper copies for foundation piecing the quilt. I don't remember exactly, but those strips are all less than 1'' wide. The sewing of the blocks was slow but not difficult. The ripping of the paper off those teensy tiny strips was another story. I remember my son Danny (who was 12 at the time) asking me one day...Are you STILL doing that? And my response was...Honey, I going to be pulling of these little bits of paper at your wedding!

Luckily, I did finish the quilt and machine quilted it. It hangs in my family room now and I smile every time I look at it. I think of my sweet confused boy who clearly doesn't understand the mind of a quilter. I hardly blame him.

Enjoy every stitch!
Diane

  1. My Mother thinks I am crazy because of the tiny pieces I sew together. But she made mini quilts. A log cabin block that she cut 3/4 inch strips to make. She made several of them. Enjoy it while you eyes and hands work. Lovely quilt. Chris
