Midnight at the Oasis

This gorgeous pattern by Jen Kingwell is the basis for a quilt along over at Lining Up My Stitches. I took the pattern along with me last week on our mini-shop-hop to find fabrics. I chose the gray with white dots for the background, instead of gray with black dots. I also found some cute coordinating gray prints and a fun stripe. I think the stripe will be the color basis for the quilt and will serve as the mini sashing in the layout. Things could change of course, but this is as far as I've gotten.

I've prepped the blocks for the orange peel border so I will have hand work ready to go. I will share photos of those as soon as I get a few done. I will come back to the center block later. I can do that because this is a go-at-your-own-pace and do-your-own-thing quilt along. Just my style!

Enjoy!
Diane

  2. It's going to be fun to follow along with this one too. You're a champ at plowing through these QAL's and finishing up. I have to be careful what I join up with as I have a short attention span sometimes.:)

  7. I was so excited to see your post. I saw Jen Kingwell in June and this the pattern I picked. My friend Kim and I are doing this jointly. I've already gone over to Lining Up My Stitches to sign up. I need to finish picking my fabric. Did you use the Mama Said Sew dot?
