I've started machine quilting the 1718 Coverlet quilt. I stitched in the ditch along all of the blocks to stabilize the quilt first. Then I am quilting each block individually. I am keeping it simple by outlining the applique blocks and stitching along the seam lines in the patchwork blocks.
These are close ups of some of the blocks I've quilted so far. I am just using the same neutral thread throughout the quilt. I am taking it slow and steady, one block at a time. So far I've only had to rip out one seam (fingers crossed my good luck and steady hands hold out!) Tracing around chicken toes is not for someone in a hurry! LOL
I'm not perfect by any means, but I do enjoy the process, and that's what's important! I think I might have to add some background designs to some of the larger blocks. I'll just think about that later. :)
Enjoy every stitch!
Diane
It looks great! Simple quilting is perfect for this complex quilt. It's fun to see the designs pop out.
