A quilt and a question...
I was given this quilt yesterday a my quilt guild meeting. Someone rescued it from a neighbor who was going to donate it. I think it's fabulous, and very "me". It is machine quilted, but parts of the piecing look as though it was hand pieced. It smells okay, but it's a little 'crunchy' so it will be getting a gentle bath today. Some of the large basting stitches are still present, which I think is kind of cool. I'll try to get more flattering photos once its been washed and fluffed.
I used this same block pattern for my Mardi Gras Memories quilt. I set the blocks a little differently, and I made mine much scrappier, but it's still the same four patches and half square triangles.
That's what I love about quilting, the combinations are endless. I just might have to make another one of these with a different twist. Oh, the ideas are bubbling already! LOL
I've added a little poll over on the side of the blog. I would love it if you took a moment to answer the poll. It's nothing scientific or anything, just me being curious. The poll says it will stay open until the 11th. I haven't done this before but thought it might be fun to give it a try. Thanks for participating!
Enjoy every stitch!
