Home Sweet Home...

Recently I snapped some photos of the house while it was clean. That usually only lasts for about 5 minutes before the kids or dogs decide to make some sort of chaos, so I had to be quick!

As soon as you walk in our front door, the living room is on the left...

And the dining room is on the right.

If you walk through the front hall, the half bath is on the left and the stairs are on the right. Just past those is the den. This is looking to the left, the room where we usually hang out.

Turning toward the right is the kitchen with the eating area...

And beyond that is the rest of the kitchen. This is where the kids usually end up with some sort of feast for their friends. That chair to the right is at the built in desk nook. It's where I post these blog entries and where I wrote my book.

Upstairs is where all four of the bedrooms are. The first one to the right is daughter Kelly's room. You may notice the horse, music, reading, and a little bit of everything theme here. I let my kids decorate their own rooms but I did make her bed skirt, window seat cover and the little curtain that hides the kitty's private space.

Next to her room is our room. It has a private bathroom with closet to the left, and a screened in porch through the french doors to the left. There is a little office nook on the right that's usually too messy to photograph.

At the other end of the hall is Danny's room. He lets his brother sleep in the bed by the window. Other than sleeping in the same room, they don't share a room. They are adamant about that. They crack me up. There is a connecting bathroom that shares a shower with their sister. Her side of the bathroom connects as well.

Between the two boy's rooms is the laundry room. The room I spend most of my time in. I wish that was a joke. This is David's room. It also doubles as a guest room since David doesn't actually sleep in here. Are you confused yet?

This is the hallway looking towards my bedroom. The railing overlooks the front hall. It's not a grand house but we feel very blessed to call it home. I am sure that while you read this it looks much different with assorted messes, dropped gym bags, kicked off shoes, and whatever Boomer has decided to relocate. All that helps make a house a home though doesn't it?

THIS GIVE AWAY IS CLOSED!! Thanks for playing.

I hope you enjoyed this little tour. And just for fun, if you correctly count the number of quilts in these photos and leave the correct number in the contents, I'll choose a winner on August 1st. The winner will get a free set of eco pouches! (Each quilt only counts once, even if it appears in more than one photo.)

  1. What a beautiful home. I feel such a sense of pride and accomplishment after everything is nice and sparkling clean. Unfortunately, then my family comes home and messes it up, so I understand the limited time for a photo. 😄 And yes the messes make the house a "home". My count was 22. Happy Wednesday! ;-> Toni Anne

  19. A house isn't a home unless it is actually LIVED in and loved! I count 22 quilts-the stack was a little tricky! Loved the tour-where do you sew and do we get a peek there someday?
