I'm feeling so thankful for the past week. It was so wonderful to have the house full of my three kids and their friends and the noise and laughter and yes, even laundry!
It was so nice to have Danny's girlfriend Megan with us for dinner and movies and fun. These two are so cute together and I love how they make each other laugh.
This boy was the last to leave this morning and I had a good cry when he drove off. He is such a warm hearted kind boy. He's doing well with his school work but UGA is so massive and it's not a good fit for a guy who is very quiet. I'm glad he's close enough to come home on weekends.
This girl had lots of fun with the animals and was so nice to have around. I miss her when she's off at school or at horse shows or working. Her schedule is busy, so getting time with her is precious. Boomer agrees.
We decorated the tree and got the lights up on the outside of the house. We decked the halls as much as they are going to get decked. Notice we don't bother to put ornaments on the 'tail wagging zone' of the tree.
Boomer loved having the kids home. He was so happy to play and snuggle and sit on every lap any chance possible. He also stole some leftover turkey off the counter, so he's feeling well fed too.
Buddy wants to know why everyone had to leave again. He misses his people and I keep telling him that they will be back soon but he doesn't seem to understand.
And this old girl is just exhausted. She has gladly taken up refuge on her dog bed near my ironing board. I think she plans to nap until Christmas. She loved the cuddles but she gets warn out trying to keep up with her brothers and the kids.
I feel like a nap would be very welcome at this point too but I have a book deadline looming! I have two bindings to put on, one quilt to finish hand quilting, and one quilt yet to begin! So I will not be napping for the next two weeks. I may not even be sleeping at night, but it'll be worth it!
I hope you are feeling thankful for lots of things too!
Diane

ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here reading blogs while my grandson sleeps in my arms. These special moments go by so fast, but the good news is that they are replaced with new ones!
ReplyDeleteHappy be-lated Thanksgiving. The boys have really grown and changed...quickly turning into young men. Thanks for sharing the growth and adventures with us.
