December Book List

And I read yet another historical fiction book about WWII set in Italy again. This one did not disappoint even though I felt stuck in a rut when I picked it up. The characters were wonderful and the complex circumstances were well reflected in the decisions they were faced with. I enjoyed this as much as I've enjoyed all the books I have read by this author. He's one of my favorites!

I'm not quite finished with this one but will be by the end of the month, so I'm including it. I love this book! The main character is a straight forward, tough woman who is determined to choose her own fate. I love that about her. I also love how she views and interacts with the people that come into her life. The prose is so well written that it really transports you to the time and location of her life. I really hope they make this into a movie! There are some awesome casting options for some of these characters.

Sorry that's all I read for the past month. I have been so insanely busy with quilting and life that there wasn't much time left for reading. I do have a very tall pile of books on my bedside table so I've no excuses for 2018!

  1. Thanks for the reviews! I put them both on order at the library. I went totally escapist last month and read Nora Roberts 'Year One'. It was totally FUN! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year with your friends and family.
