I absolutely adored this book. I've loved every book written by this author and was excited to find out he's got a new book coming out soon!
This book was the story of a young girl (an almost eight year old, as she kept saying!) and her relationship with her grandmother. The story is so beautifully written and describes their 'secret language'and the fantastical stories that the grandmother told the girl. Only after the grandmother is gone does the girl realize the true meaning of the stories.
It's magical, humorous, touching, and amazing. Don't miss this book!
Again, another one of my favorite authors has written a book about a timely and disconcerting topic. I started listening to this book on CD but haven't been able to finish it yet. My car went into the shop for two weeks (remember the uninsured driver who hit me? ugh!) I plan to start listening to this again and can't wait to see how the story unfolds. I am super anxious to finish this one!
This book is about a family with four teenagers and how their lives intersect with the renters that are tenants in their rental property. It takes place in a planned community with lots of rules and restrictions and the renters are a bit unconventional. This is the book for my book club next month, I'm enjoying it so far, and looking forward to finishing it as well. I would recommend this based on it so far. It's well written and the characters are intriguing.
As always, please share what you are reading in the comments. I am always looking for good books.
Happy Reading!

I've read the first book, but haven't read the other two. I think I need to pick up some books on CD so I too can listen in the car.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think I might especially enjoy the first one. :)
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't read Kristin Hannah's newest, The Great Alone, you need to add it to your list. soooooo good! Have you read The Nightingale by Hannah? If not, stop everything and get it! My favorite book.
ReplyDeletethanks for the reviews. I like those authors too so I'll check them out.
ReplyDeleteI might just have to download a few (or all) of those - thanks! Kristin Hannah is my new favorite author - I just love every book of hers that I have read so far. Have you read any by Pam Jenoff? They are another new favorite of mine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for these reading ideas. I work at a library but still get bogged down looking for my next read. I ordered all three in Audio book so that I can listen to them while sewing and driving.
ReplyDeleteLoved the first one. I'm trying to figure out how to download an audio book on my phone to listen to when traveling. When you are trying to save space a big hardback is big and heavy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the other recommendations.
