Hello June, Hello Summer

I love summer! It's my favorite season by far! And while I'm aware that the calendar doesn't say it's summer yet, it's summer in my mind and that's what matters to me!

I love long sunny days and being outside and the feeling of freedom summer somehow always imparts. I love having my kids home and having the house full of friends coming and going. I love fresh garden produce and salads and dinner on the grill. I love not having springtime allergies anymore. I love waking up to the sun shining in the window and sewing by the late afternoon light that streams into my sewing room. I love summer, did I mention that? LOL

I've got big plans for this summer. And because I love lists almost as much as I love summer... Here's just a few things that I plan to work on:

BUTTERFLY THREADS QUILTING

1. Create three new patterns (quilts are made!)
2. Release another new template, plus a template set!
3. Make progress on book #3.
4. Restock and expand online shop (fun stuff!)
5. Plan a booth for 2 shows in the fall.
6. Launch my longarm quilting services for hire.
7. Create a custom commission quilt.

PERSONALLY

1. Create a fitness routine with variety of yoga, walking, hiking and biking.
2. Visit farmer's market and try some new healthy recipes.
3. Proactive steps to combat pain (joint and arthritis issues).
4. Alter new clothes, clean out closet, wardrobe editing.
4. Transition from desktop to laptop for portability.

There's more but I'm trying to keep it realistic. And to make sure I make progress, each one of these items actually has a list of steps! I do love my lists.

So what do you plan to do this summer? I would love to hear what you will be doing in the comments. Speaking of comments...I'm no longer getting emails informing me of your comments so I'm replying to them in the comment section, but I realized, you may not be getting notification of my replies. Ugh. I hope blogger works this issue out soon. Please know that I read and appreciate every comment, and I reply to every comment!

Our online friendships are important to me, thank you for you unending kindness and support. I'm glad we have this place to connect.

Happy summer!
Diane

    1. Feel free to email me anytime! I always have big plans for the summer, not sure how much I will get done since I spent most of the day trying to figure out how to crop a design on my ProStitcher (unsuccessfully!) LOL

  3. I think someone mentioned that you love summer!!! I used to love summer--up north--but in the south summer means high humidity--the kind were you can't breathe!!!
Love your lists--I do them but in my head (but maybe that is why not many of get them done these days--the 'head' doesn't remember them all!!!!!)
enjoy the summer and kids being home--di

    1. Yep, the humidity can be a bit overwhelming at times, I agree. But I prefer it to cold rain any day! Just because I have lists doesn't mean it ALL going to happen, they are more goals that guarantees. :)

  4. I'd like to pick up the phone and have a chat!
Someone suggested commenting on your blog post and clicking the box, Notify you of replys. That is a temporary fix but seems to be working. Blogger is supposedly working on the issue.
I love both of your lists! And having an action plan to go with each one is perfect. Summer is my favorite season as well. Used to be because I loved having my kids home too. Not that doesn't apply any more but I love summer for your same reasons.

    1. Great idea Lori! I'll give it a try. Thanks for your help. I practically need a list to get out of bed in the morning. I couldn't survive without my lists. LOL

  5. Wow! You're so energetic for summer! My summer plans are definitely laid back: mostly work on finishing as many WIPS as possible, staying cool and avoiding hurricanes!

    1. I would love autumn more if it didn't remind me so much that winter is near! LOL I hope you have a wonderful time in the mountains and please share some photos. Maybe you will squeeze in a few moments with all of your men this summer. Hugs!

  7. Great lists for the summer. I'm a list maker too. I don't always get to everything, but it helps me to try and stay on track. You've got some fun and challenging plans .

    1. Exactly, lists give me a game plan, but that's always subject to change! I'll be in Colorado Springs next week teaching, that's not near you is it? Oh I would love it if it was!

  8. I'm not a blogger, but I do enjoy the "conversations" that occur when bloggers can respond to comments or questions. Sadly, I'm not sure there will be a solution, since I think this arose from the European privacy rules.

    1. Oh I do hope they find a way to make it work again! I don't see why we can't just all check a box that says we agree to their terms and be done with it. Fingers crossed!

  9. I'm a list person, but yours are much more ambitious than mine! Best of luck getting through and wowsers, book #3? That is awesome!
