Our Arizona Vacation

I've shared quite a few photos of our Arizona vacation on Instagram and Facebook but I haven't told the story here.

My sweet neice, Sarah, was graduating from high school last month. She lives in Tucson, and we have visited there many times. However, we had never actually done much traveling around the state and we had never been to the Grand Canyon. So we decided to do a quick whirlwind tour!

We flew to Phoenix and spend the night in Scottsdale. Then we drove to the Grand Canyon, which was very grand indeed.

The scenery along the drive was so amazing. We enjoyed some time walking along the South Rim Trail and taking lots of photos. The weather was perfect and we had a wonderful time there.

We then drove to Sedona for a couple of nights. The drive down into the canyon was breath taking! Once we got settled into our resort, we explored a bit and had a wonderful dinner at a local brewery.

The next morning we got up early and did the Pink Jeep Tour of the red rocks and wilderness. It was so much fun and we all were impressed with the way the jeep could manage almost any angle. There were more photo ops and we enjoyed learning about the local flora and fauna.

Later that day there was time for a visit to the quilt store of course! I was so happy when they offered shipping services for my purchases. I didn't show much self control because they had a selection of fabrics that I don't see in my area.

The kids and their dad went on a short hike while I shopped. So they had fun stories to tell when they picked me up.

We had dinner at the small airport on top of the hill, so the sunset view was amazing.

The next morning we headed off to Tucson for the festivities. We had a fun meal all together at a local pizza place, and spent time with the family. The graduation was so lovely outside with the gorgeous sunset.

We left our girl in Tucson with her cousin so they could go on another grand adventure. It was sad flying home without her, but we are getting great updates from her on a daily basis. I'll share her trip in another post.

It's always good to be home, but I'm so thankful we were able to see such amazing nature and spend so much fun time together as a family.
