Backseat Saints is a typical Joshilyn Jackson book about a strong southern woman with just a touch of crazy. I love all of her books and so I wasn't surprised when this one drew me in. It is a woman who is dealing with a mother who abandoned her as a child, a husband who uses her for a punching bag on occasion and a sweet little old lady neighbor as her only friend, besides her faithful dog. So, needless to say, when she decides to take control of her life, the adventure begins. I would highly recommend every book written by this author. I love her style and her characters, and their voices.

This book was beautiful, heart breaking and epic. It was a wonderful read and I found myself feeling immersed in the fantastical land of magic, amazing creatures and beautiful people. I couldn't put it down. I read the book before I discovered the author's story and why she wrote the book. That made it even more tender and amazing. I highly recommend this book!

This little book is a great read. I read it (with a bit of skimming) on one Sunday morning and took some notes! Lots of good action items and specific suggestions for making better choices in life that lead to happiness. While some of the material didn't apply to me (and other parts won't apply to you perhaps?) it was totally worth reading and I plan to check out her other books. I like her style and approach. She's not annoyingly optimistic or overly cheerful. Reading the book almost felt like a conversation. I would highly recommend it if you are at all interested in the topic.
As always, thanks for the suggestions you leave in the comments, I look forward to discovering 'new to me' authors.
Happy Reading!
