December Reading List

The Death of Mrs. Westaway

I listened to this book on CD while driving to and from work and teaching locations. It was a great story that kept my interest but about half way through the book I had totally figured out what was going to happen. I enjoyed listening to the details and getting to know the characters, but I was a little disappointed when things did actually turn out how I thought they would. There were a few surprises along the way, and I would recommend it.

The Great Alone

Not only did I not finish this book, I haven't even started it yet! But I know I'm going to love it and I plan to finish it before the end of the month, so it stays on the list. I have loved every book by this author but her last book The Nightingale was one of my all time favorite books! If you haven't read it, you need to, and then read this one because I am certain it will be wonderful. I plan to snuggle up and read it all the way through once my house full of company flies off to their different destinations soon.

Circe

I listened to this book on CD in my car while driving and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I will say that if you aren't at least a little bit familiar with Greek Mythology you will miss a lot of the fun little references and bits of relationships that are brought to life in this retelling. I haven't read any mythology since high school, but I enjoyed getting reacquainted with the gods and mortals after all these years. I might not have enjoyed it as much if I was reading it, but I loved listening to it. I would give this one a try if you are on the fence about it, I think you'll be surprised!

I hope you have enjoyed reading along with me this year! I have read 38 books which isn't a whole lot for me, but I also don't remember reading so many books I loved in one year. I would love for you to share your recent reads, or books you plan to read in 2019. Leave them in the comments so I can add them to my library request list.

Happy reading friends!
Diane

THE FINE PRINT: As always, your purchases through the links provided help me keep reading! A few cents from every purchase amounts to a book or two a month for me. Your support is greatly appreciated.
