Congratulations Kelly!
Today Kelly, this amazing daughter of mine, graduates from Berry College with a degree in Animal Sciences and a minor in dance. She has worked so hard to maintain an almost perfect 4.0 GPA throughout her four years of college. She also worked at the equestrian center all four years, was on the equestrian team and managed to embrace the full campus life experience. She has always been a hard worker and it really paid off.
Berry will not be having a graduation ceremony today, and she missed her last 3 months on campus due to COVID 19. She was unable to celebrate her final performances in dance, her final banquet with her barn family and her many accomplishments. No date has been determined for graduation at this point. She has been so sad to be robbed of these experiences she was so looking forward to, but she has handled it with grace and determination and strength, plus a few tears.
Next, she will be attending University of Georgia Veterinary School to finish her education and become a DVM. I have no doubt she will be successful because of the hard work and determination that she continues to exhibit. As her mother, I simple could not be more proud of the woman she is becoming. I feel so lucky to be the person she calls mom, and to have a front row seat in her amazing journey.
We have plans to celebrate her graduation, her birthday and her 'white coat' ceremony in August. But feel free to leave your good wishes with her here or on her social media. We are so very proud of her!
Congratulations Kelly!
Love,
Mom

ReplyDeleteI do feel so sad for all the students who are missing their graduation ceremonies. Two of my granddaughters are missing theirs. One from 8th grade and the other from 5th and while not on the scale of high school and college graduations, they are still a right of passage.
I can't believe your daughter has graduated already. It seems not long ago you were sending her off to college. Well, Congratulations, Kelly for all you accomplishments and your continued education. You have made your mom very proud.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Kelly, on all your hard work and accomplishments. You are so lucky to have such a wonderful family, and I know that great things lie ahead for you. All the best to you in whatever you tackle (and some germ-free cyber hugs too)!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on completing undergrad Kelly!!!! VET school acceptance is a HUGE accomplishment-much harder than med school. I bet your parents throw a double big bash for that graduation!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow fun, we both have a daughter named Kelly. Congratulations to your daughter!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Kelly, and parents! A wonderful accomplishment to graduate, and to be accepted to vet school. Quite an accomplishment. I remember when my husband received the letter saying he was accepted into the vet program - it was exciting and a bit scary. We had two young children then, and yet he managed school and family, so I know Kelly will shine. Best wishes to all.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Kelly. It is sad that so many will miss some of the special events this year; however, hopefully there will be many more celebrations in her life.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Kelly and to you for helping to create such a talented young woman!
