A Dream Come True

My latest quilt can be found in the just released issue of Simply Moderne by Quiltmania.  This quilt was inspired by a Ted Talk I heard by this amazing person. I just loved the term MULTIPLICITY and had never even heard it before. I spent some time thinking about what the concept meant to me, and naturally it led me down a quilting path! No surprise there!

I have always wanted to make a variation on the Xplus block but wanted to add a bit more piecing. By creating a fun technique which combines half square triangles and sew-and-flip squares on the corners, I was able to create the unusual shapes with no templates or paper piecing. So the quilt is actually very quick and easy strip piecing for the most part. I made all of the blocks on a weekend retreat with my local quilt guild.

Being published by Quiltmania has always been a dream of mine. Thanks so much to Carol and the team at Quiltmania for making my dream come true!
