Step 2 9 Patch Rows
These two rows are nine patches made from 2 ½’’ strips. I used background and assorted prints. You can use all assorted prints or just two fabrics or just two colors. Both rows are the same size.
Cutting
Throw- cut 18 strips 2 ½’’ x 18’’ from each of the fabrics (background and colors)
All Other Sizes- cut 21 strips 2 ½’’ x 18’’ from each of the fabrics (background and colors)
Sewing
Sew the strips into sets of light/dark/light and dark/light/dark. Press the seams to the dark strips.
Throw- sew 6 strip sets dark/light/dark and 6 strip sets light/dark/light
All Other Sizes- sew 7 strip sets dark/light/dark and 7 strip sets light/dark/light
Cutting
Cross cut the strip sets every 2 ½’’.
Throw- cut 72 36 of each of the color combinations
All Other Sizes- cut 96 48 of each of the color combinations
Sewing
Sew these together alternating colors as shown in the diagram. Make 2.
Note the ends will have different combinations (not matching) as in the diagram.
Press the seams in one direction.
