Celebration Sew Along Step 4

Step 4 Triangles and squares!

These two rows are triangles made from 3 ½’’ strips and 6 ½’’ strips and 3
½’’ squares. I used background and assorted prints. You can use all assorted prints or just two fabrics or just two colors. Both rows are the same size.

King Size version

Use the same cutting and sewing for triangles from STEP 1.

Cutting

Throw and Twin- You get a break this week because you don't need this row!

All Other Sizes-

Cut 8 strips 3 1/2’’ x 18’’ from the background , cut strips into 64 triangles

Cut 7 strips 3 1/2’’ x 18’’ from the colors, cut strips into 32 squares 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"

Cut 16 strips 6 1/2" x 9" from the colors, cut 2 triangles from each strip (32 total)

Sewing

Sew the 3 1/2" background triangles to the 3 1/2" color squares to make 1 pieced HST for each block. Press the seams toward the background fabric. Make a total of 32.

Sew a 6 1/2'' color triangle to each of the pieced HST units. Press the seams toward the 6 1/2'' triangle. Make 32

Queen Size version

Arrange the blocks as shown in the diagram and sew them into two rows. Press the seams.

Make 2 rows of 16
