Introducing Busy Bees
If you get my newsletter, you already know the story about these little bee quilts. I have been stitching on them when we travel (Chris does all the driving so I have to do something!) Bee Kind was finished first and it led to Bee Happy. I realized quickly that the possibilities were endless when it came to these cute little bees. When sharing them at groups where I was teaching, I kept getting asked for the pattern. It didn’t exist yet, but I realized that I was going to have to start putting it together if I kept sharing these fun little quilts. I made Bee Mine and it became obvious to me that all of these little bees could be mixed up. It was sort of a ‘build your own bee’ concept. Choose a quilt shape. Choose a message. Choose the wing shape and design fill…you get the idea. Then I realized that a bitty bee was also going to bee too much fun to make, so I did! I used the same background hexies and border hexies but I reduced the bee by 50%. She was tiny but mighty so I decided to give her a crown.
You can order the pattern HERE or you can purchase it from me in person when I visit your group. I’ll be teaching this workshop for the first time next week in Florida, and I am so excited to share this fun little “Build a Bee” project.
My teaching schedule is full for 2026, but I still have a few dates available for 2027. Check HERE to see if I am visiting a group near you. Also, note that I’m doing more group presentations and workshops by ZOOM now. I hope to see you in person or online soon!
Enjoy every stitch, Diane
